As the effects of coronavirus continue to evolve and change daily, Fresh Thyme is dedicated to adjusting as quickly and efficiently as possible to meet the needs of our customers and team members. Our community remains our top priority and we will continue to work to ensure our stores are safe for all who come through our doors.
With that, Fresh Thyme has added new safety measures to further ensure a safe working and shopping environment, supplementing previously implemented actions.
1. All Fresh Thyme locations are conducting daily health screenings of our team members as they arrive to work, including temperature checks, to ensure the safety of both our team members and all store visitors.
2. We are providing gloves and masks to all team members to wear while they are working. The CDC has provided new guidance around the use of masks and is now recommending wearing a mask or cloth face covering in public settings, such as our store, and we encourage all our customers and team members to follow this advice.
3. Fresh Thyme is now asking our customers to limit the number of shoppers who come to the store on each trip and occupancy will be limited to 50% of each store’s legal capacity unless otherwise dictated by local mandates. We are reinforcing social distancing through PA announcements and floor markings, as well as ensuring our customer traffic patterns allow for social distancing.
We continue to conduct regular cleaning and sanitation in all our Fresh Thyme stores. We have installed plexiglass shields at all check lanes and are conducting frequent cleaning of all high touch points including cart handles, doorknobs, handles, and customer payment pads.
Fresh Thyme’s previously implemented safety measures remain in place. These include reduced shopping hours to support deeper cleaning overnight and re-stocking efficiency; dedicated shopping hours for senior citizens, customers with chronic health conditions and essential service workers; temporarily suspending Wednesday Double Ad Day to better ensure in-stock conditions and limit the number of customers inside our stores at any one time; and social distancing decals on the floor 6 feet apart in areas where customers may congregate, such as lines for checkout lanes, deli and meat/seafood counters. We continue to suggest that customers use the length of their shopping carts to gauge appropriate distance from others where there aren’t decals on the floor.
As we have from the very beginning, Fresh Thyme Farmers Market has put the following measures in place to make sure employees remain home if they are not feeling well: pay continuation program, risk assessment and eligibility process, free online screenings for COVID-19, and 5 days of dependent backup care.
