We’ll Get Through This Together

April 29, 2020

Dear Fresh Thyme Customer,

I continue to be amazed at the work taking place in our stores and the examples I see day after day of customers and team members working together to ensure one another’s safety. As we continue through this pandemic, it’s important that you know how we are supporting the teams in our stores and the local communities where we all live and work.

Starting earlier this month, our team members began daily health screenings that include temperature checks to ensure they are well enough to work. We have several support programs in place for our team members in case they are unable to work due to illness or new caregiving responsibilities. We are also making sure our team members have appropriate safety supplies, such as masks and gloves, to protect themselves and to keep our stores clean. Moving forward, we are requiring all team members and vendors to wear masks or facial coverings while inside our stores. We encourage you to do the same.

We implemented an appreciation bonus for our hourly team members and we will extend that bonus for an additional month. It’s one more way we can show our teams how thankful we are for the difference they are making every day.

During this pandemic, we have increased our efforts supporting local food pantries because right now many food pantries are struggling for donations and volunteers. We have partnered with Feeding America to donate 36,000 meals to the Northern Illinois Food Bank and will continue to support food pantries across our footprint.

We know that many local restaurants in our communities have also been hit especially hard by this crisis. We wanted to help, so we’ve partnered with local restaurants to provide meals for our store team members. This partnership allows us to support the small local businesses in our communities that mean so much to us, while showing some well-deserved appreciation to our teams.

Significant changes have taken place in each of your homes. Whether it’s a new way of working, an increased responsibility as a caregiver or a new role as a child-educator, this is a challenging time for all of us. Our commitment to you is easing some of your stress by providing you a safe, friendly place to do what is essential to us all, feeding ourselves and our families.

Thank you for trusting us. We’ll get through this together.

Thank You,

Gerald Melville
