Spring is in the Air

Allergy sufferers beware: ’Tis the season for sneezin’! (And congestion, and itchy eyes, and . . . )

Spring is in the Air

Spring is here—that fresh air is loaded with pollen, and rain has kicked up mold spores. If you suffer from seasonal allergies, all you can do is sneeze and wheeze. Fortunately, Fresh Thyme can help. Our Natural Living department offers a bevy of products that can make you feel human again. Stroll down the aisles and ask our friendly staff what items might work for your specific condition; they’re knowledgeable about traditional products as well as homeopathic remedies. While we can’t eradicate hay fever, we can make you more comfortable! As always, check with your physician about using products new to you, and remember that your results may vary.

What To Expect

March — April
Tree pollen is the culprit in early spring. Tiny, practically invisible flowers on the tips of bare branches release pollen into the air. Maple, elm, mulberry, and oak are the big offenders.

May — June
Grass is the instigator in early summer. Wear a mask if you mow, and take off your outdoor clothes when you go inside. Replace air filters and vacuum often.

July — September
Late summer gives way to weed allergies (English plantain, lamb’s quarters, and ragweed are the Big Bad Three). Check pollen count, especially on windy days. Avoid being outside between 5 AM and 10 AM, when pollen count is highest.
